Adventure Babies: New Story & Sensory Classes for Babies & Toddlers in Clifton & Westbury-on-Trym

Today on Bristol Mum I am pleased to tell you about Adventure Babies, new story and sensory classes for 0 – 4s starting in Clifton and Westbury-on-Trym in February.

Adventure Babies takes babies and toddlers on adventures by bringing brilliant books to life and helping them to fall in love with books and reading.

Sessions also include some great sensory messy play activities that your little one can get stuck into without you having to clear up afterwards!

Classes are run by local mum, Emma Garbett, who founded Adventure Babies nearly 4 years ago in Manchester following the birth of her little boy in 2013.

Adventure Babies was a huge hit with parents, carers and little ones and there are now five Adventure Babies franchises up and running around the country.

Adventure Babies has also won ‘Best Class for 0-2s’ by Mums in the Know 2015 in Manchester, been nominated for Kali kids ‘Best Pre-school Activity 2015’ and has been a finalist for kallikids ‘Best Pre-school Activity 2016’.

Emma has recently moved to Somerset and has just finished maternity leave with her second child, a little girl who is 10 months old. She is excited to start teaching the new Adventure Babies classes in Clifton and Westbury-on-Trym.

Emma explains:

“‘I can’t wait to get back to teaching Adventure Babies classes. I really am passionate and knowledgeable about the benefits of reading with babies and the effects of sensory stimulation on babies and toddlers and I can’t wait to come and meet all the lovely mums and dads of Bristol.”

A qualified teacher who has worked in primary schools and Early Years settings for many years, Emma is very aware of the benefits that having a love of reading gives children:

“I have seen first hand the incredible impact of a love of reading has on so many areas of learning from accessing the curriculum to social interactions by having more developed language and communication skills, the ability for greater focus and concentration coupled with better memory skills.”

Each Adventure Babies class takes babies and toddlers on a fun adventure through a combination of activities led by Emma as well as time for babies and parents/carers to socialise and make new friends.

Emma explains more about the messy sensory play for little ones at Adventure Babies:

“Every week I will have something messy from the story to play in which is great because it means you baby or toddler gets all of the sensory benefits of messy play without you having to spend hours cleaning or making gloop that they only want to enjoy for 5 minutes!”

The new Adventure Babies classes in Clifton and Westbury-on-Trym start in February, each with a short 3-week course to enable you and your baby or toddler to get a taste of what Adventure Babies is all about!
