On Thursday 1st June between 11am – 3pm, children and families can discover life as a medieval tailor at a free family arts event taking place in St John on the Wall in the centre of Bristol.
Families will be able to explore the historic world of fabrics and fashion with free arts, crafts and activities:
- Have a go at spinning your own yarn
- Be inspired by the crypt and decorate a medieval bag to take home
- Design an historic fashion show and shine it onto the ceiling of the crypt for everyone to see
- Crafts and activities
- Medieval music
- Dressing up
St John on the Wall, cared for by the heritage charity The Churches Conservation Trust, is situated on Broad Street BS1 2EZ.
No longer used for regular worship the medieval church is open daily for free tours and has recently introduced interactive visitor displays telling the story of Medieval Bristol.
St John on the Wall hosts regular family events, as well as gigs, exhibitions and performances.
This is a free, drop-in event – no need to book.
