Over the next couple of weeks there are lots of Halloween events for kids taking place in and around Bristol, including some great free/cheap ones, too.

Mexican Day of the Dead: Bristol Museum
Fun celebrations at Bristol Museum for children and families, celebrating the Mexican festival, Day of the Dead.
Families are invited to add their memories and photos of loved ones to the museum’s colourful ofrenda shrine, plus enjoy music, dance, face painting and more!
There will be craft workshops to make your own Day of the Dead mementos, you can take a selfie with La Catarina and remember your own ancestors, and you can also learn about the traditional Día de los Muertos celebrations.

Halloween Fun at Bristol Zoo Gardens
This October, Bristol Zoo will be undergoing a spooky makeover and getting into the Halloween spirit.
There will be giant skull masks around the Zoo and a special haunted trail. Children can search for a series of creepy clues and make a spine-tingling skull mask at the end.
The Zoo’s own gorilla costume character, Kuki, will lead a fun-filled Halloween parade for children twice a day. There will also be a storyteller spooking everyone with tales of skeletons, ghouls and ghosts. Children can also get their faces painted in chilling Halloween designs.
Plus, hands-on animal experiences at the zoo’s daily ‘Animal Encounters’ sessions along with dazzling Amazing Animals shows and a host of other talks and feeds.

Halloween at Wookey Hole Caves
This Halloween visitors to Wookey Hole Caves are invited to learn how to ride a broomstick!
Home of the infamous Witch of Wookey Hole, the caves provide the perfect location for October Half Term fun, and the new broomstick training course is just one of over 20 activities for visiting families to enjoy.
The Witch of Wookey along with the resident wizarding professors will put trainee flyers through their paces as they learn to mount, dismount, manoeuvre and accelerate on their broomsticks, making for some great photo opportunities.
Visitors will also be impressed with the brand new Witch’s Grotto which is buried deep beneath the Mendip Hills, within the historic Wookey Hole Caves, where every child will get a free treat. The high-energy performances during the daily Halloween Circus Shows will also be fun!

Halloween fun Day: Creative Workspace
A family fun day for everyone to enjoy!
Make a spooky cartoon with a professional animator (11am – 1pm & 2-4pm), play Halloween songs with Dandelion Music (12-12.30pm), dance to spooky tunes played by local musicians (1.15 – 2pm) and get creative making Halloween lanterns with Colourful Minds (2 – 4pm).
Also games, prizes, cake decorating and face-painting happening throughout the day!

Halloween at Wild Place Project
Wild Place Project near Bristol will be spine-tinglingly spooky for Halloween.
A witch is making her home in the woods at Wild Place Project telling exciting stories of magic and mystery to bewitch and enthral families.
Brave children and their mums and dads can explore the witch’s home and come up with recipes for potions which they can leave inside her cauldron.
They can also visit the magical creatures’ enclosure and see if they can spot them hiding in the shadows.

diddi dance Kids’ Halloween Half-Term Holiday Class
A one-off half-term Halloween class for children aged from around 18 months – 7 years of age.
The class will include dancing, singing, action songs, fun props, music and of course, lots of gentle Halloween fun!
