Masks and Mayhem: a Half-Term Theatre Workshop in Bishopston for Children aged 7-11

MASKS AND MAYHEM – THEATRE WORKSHOP FOR 7-11 YEARS

On Monday 29th October there will be an exciting half-term workshop in Bishopston for children aged 7-11.

Masks and Mayhem is being held by Bristol Academy of Drama and will give children the chance to take an exciting and creative journey into the world of drama and performance on the theme of Halloween.

Students can enjoy a day creating masks and fun memories, learning new skills and making new friends.

Led by experienced drama facilitators, the children will create not only their own Halloween masks but use these to inspire them to create spooky characters.

Using props and costumes, our experienced facilitators will guide the students create their own Halloween story which they can share with family and friends.

Students will not only perform in the play but be essential to its creation, sharing ideas and working with others to bring the story to life.

Through speaking, listening and using imagination everyone will work together as a team and build their understanding of how to dramatise the story and present a finished production ready to be shared with an audience.

This process is designed to develop creativity, build confidence and help with improvisation skills and teamwork. But more than that is designed for the children to have a fun and creative day.

They can even take their mask home with them to be used for more Halloween fun when Trick or Treating on 31st October.

Due to limited spaces available, it is recommended that parents/guardians book early to avoid disappointment.

All children will need to bring is their willingness to get stuck in, their imagination, comfy clothing and plenty of food and drink to keep their energy levels up.

Masks and Mayhem will run on Monday 29th October from 10am – 4pm at Kelvin Players Studio Theatre, 253b Gloucester Road, BS7 8NY.

It is £50 per child which includes all materials for mask making, plus children can take their masks home.
