Paranormal Promenade: a half-term Halloween-themed Theatre Workshop in Bishopston

Paranormal Promenade: Physical Theatre and Devising Workshop on a Halloween Theme

On Thursday 1st November there will be a Halloween-themed half-term workshop in Bishopston for children and young people with Bristol Academy of Drama.

Paranormal Promenade will offer 11–14 year olds the opportunity to devise, rehearse and perform a Halloween inspired performance under the guidance of experienced Drama Facilitators.

Facilitators will introduce the students to the promenade style of theatre where they will literally take their audience on a journey through their play.

Students will be given props, costumes and basic scenery in which to create their story and can let their imagination run wild.

There is no limit to what can be achieved in this short time and who knows what strange and wonderful characters they’ll create and what strange experiences they will introduce their audience to.

They will make new friends, develop characters, discuss and devise scenes to build their play for a performance at the end of the day to family and friends.

This process is designed to introduced students to the concept of Promenade Theatre and will develop creative thinking, drama and improvisation skills and build confidence and teamwork.

Due to limited spaces available, it is recommended that parents/guardians book early to avoid disappointment.

All children will need to bring is their willingness to get stuck in, their imagination, comfy clothing and plenty of food and drink to keep their energy levels up.
