Fairfield High School has recently received a heartfelt message from the husband of former Fairfield pupil Lynda now living near Bordeaux, France. Lynda, 73, reflects fondly on her school days, and one memory in particular stands out: singing the beautiful Christmas carol, “As with Gladness Men of Old.”

Lynda recalls this being performed to a special arrangement by her then music teacher, possibly Mrs. de Vere. Lynda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 20 years ago and is now wheelchair-bound, but these musical memories remain vivid and cherished.

Fairfield is reaching out to its local community to help rediscover this piece of Lynda’s musical heritage.
