If you fancy a day on the beach with the kids, there are several great beaches not too far from Bristol. Here’s my list…
Clevedon is a seaside town in North Somerset which offers a sand and pebble beach, pier and promenade. Dog-friendly. It is also a great spot for crabbing!

Burnham-on-Sea offers a beautiful sandy beach and doesn’t have the crowds that Weston-Super-Mare can have.
It is patrolled by life guards in the Summer and dogs are banned so it is clean and safe (though the sea should not be approached at low tide).
