Today’s post is about Curiosity, a mini-museum for the kids aged under 7 at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. I will be writing about the Museum itself in a future post but feel that Curiosity deserves a post of its own.
Curiosity is a little area designed specifically for little people with ‘exhibits’ and activities that children can enjoy through interactive play. It is situated on the ground floor of the museum and is gated and secure (an important factor with me as I have two mischievous imps who delight in running away from me, usually in opposite directions).

There is also a little stage for children to perform on. This comes complete with colourful costume, puppets and props to be used by the little performers 🙂
There is a padded area in the centre of Curiosity for really little children, too, including crawlers. Parents and carers must remain with their children, either inside Curiosity or just outside.
Along with the rest of Bristol Museum and Art gallery, Curiosity is free! There is a cafe on the ground floor which serves home cooked food. This includes a ‘children’s platter’ type of meal where kids can have a choice of five items, such as sandwiches, fruit, yogurt and a drink. There are baby changing and baby feeding facilities, too.
My kids both love Curiosity and are happily occupied for ages when we visit. If you have children under seven, it is definitely worth a visit!
Curiosity is open Monday to Friday 10am – 4.30pm and at weekends and bank holidays from 10am – 5.30pm.Â
