One of my favourite places to visit with my kids, is Dyrham Park. Dyrham Park is situated near Bath in Gloucestershire and includes a 17th century mansion, deer park and gardens and is open every day of the week. Unless you are a National Trust member, Dyrham Park does cost to visit but it is worth the price and you could easily spend a whole day there.
To reach Dyrham House and its gardens, there is a fantastic deer park to explore. There are rolling green hills, beautiful views, giant old trees and even more interesting things to discover along the way…
There is a picnic area with a hay bale maze, tractors and more for kids to enjoy!

Close to Dyrham House, there is a huge old tree which my kids discovered to their great delight that they can climb inside…
It is worth taking your kids into Dyrham House. Every room has been recreated to show what it would have been like several hundred years ago so offers a cool history lesson for children (and grown-ups too).

My kids especially love the kitchen at Dyrham Park; is is huge and as you can see, is very realistic (in fact, so realistic that my son tried to eat some of the kitchen’s ‘biscuits’!).
The gardens at Dyrham Park are well-kept and fantastic for having a picnic and run around…
If you are looking for a fantastic day out with your kids in the fresh air and countryside, Dyrham Park is worth a visit!
