Today, Bristol Mum features a local mum’s review of Feeding Friends Breastfeeding Support Group in Downend.

Feeding Friends runs every Monday (apart from bank holidays) from 10.30 – 11.30am at Downend Clinic, Buckingham Gardens, BS16 5TW.

The group provides support to breastfeeding and pregnant mothers and is run by local mums who have all had first-hand experience of breastfeeding, some of whom have trained as breastfeeding peer supporters. Midwives and health visitors are also available for additional support.

Here, Rachel Moxham, a Bristol Mum, shares her experience of Feeding Friends.

Feeding Friends in Downend runs Mondays from 10:30am. When I first became a mum like everyone else I was full of questions about breastfeeding. Was I doing it right? Did I have enough milk? Position? Latching?

Often the breastfeeding journey takes you down a bumpy road but the peer supporters are lovely and always on hand with great advice and support as well as sometimes a much needed hug and a biscuit! If it wasn’t for this lovely group I think I would have given up a long time ago!

New mums are always made extremely welcome and its a great networking opportunity to find out more about other activities in the local area.
