Monday to Friday Summer Fun for Kids this Week: 03/08/15 – 07/08/15

There are some great events for kids in and around Bristol this week (Monday 3rd – Friday 7th August).

From outdoor holiday clubs to loads of free activities at Bristol’s community farms and museums, there is something for every child to enjoy!

MONDAY

Out There Holiday Club

Out There ​is a quality, affordable and alternative childcare provider in St Anne’s for children aged 8 – 11 years that specialises in outdoor play and learning and is run by qualified teachers, trained in Level 3 Forest School. Crafts, bug hunting, campfire cooking, den buiding and more!

Out There holiday club sessions will now also be opening its daily 2 hour Forest School session to 5-7 year olds.

Farm Holiday Club: Windmill Hill City Farm

Great outdoor fun session with the farm’s experienced team. Pond dipping, animal care, gardening, cooking and more. For age 6 – 9 years.

Planting Food: Dyrham Park

Get your hands dirty at the allotment as you plant some radishes and lettuces. Then you just have to wait and watch them grow! They’ll be ready to eat in a few weeks time.

Trampolining 2 hour activity sessions: Axis Trampoline Club

Bounce n’ Climb: Axis Trampoline Club

Axis has teamed up with Redpoint Climbing Centre Bristol to provide a holiday program to get kids bouncing, somersaulting and climbing.

This is a 4 day course open to 7 – 17 years which starts today and runs until Friday.

Wild 4 Life Outdoor Play Sessions with The Play Rangers: Kingswood Park

Family Storytelling: Arnolfini Café Bar

Every Tuesday, storytellers will amaze, make you giggle and provide a morning of fun. Meet in the Café Bar and follow us to our storytelling space where you’ll listen to stories from beautiful books. Suitable for ages 2-4 years.

Garden Workshop for Kids ‘Bug Hotels’: Zion Community Art Space

Owl Pellet Dissection: Dyrham Park

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta: Ashton Court Estate

  • 6pm Revealing of Special Shapes!
    If early mornings are not your thing, why not join us for the day enjoying lunch or afternoon tea, in time to see flypasts and secure a good spot to watch the evening ascent as the balloons lift off over the City of Bristol.
  • 9.15pm Nightglow and Fireworks
    The famous Fiesta Nightglows are a stunning end to your evening. Over 30 ballooning teams will light up the night sky with their balloons in time to music as night falls at 9.15pm on both Thursday 6th and Saturday 8th August, followed by a spectacular fireworks finale.

Europe’s largest free annual hot air balloon event. Lots of activities to enjoy.
