Filton Avenue Nursery School and Children’s Centre has had good reason to celebrate recently after being given an ‘Outstanding’ rating in its latest Ofsted inspection.
Staff at Filton Avenue Nursery School and Children’s Centre – located on Blakeney Road in Lockleaze – celebrated the results of the inspection with singing and cake, along with children, parents, governors, community partners and local councillors.
Filton Avenue Nursery School and Children’s Centre has been part of the local community and running for an impressive 77 years. As well as providing early years education for children aged 3 and 4, it also offers day care provision from birth, a wide-range of support for local families and community learning.
Jackie McGregor, head of Filton Avenue Nursery School and Childen’s Centre, describes the thoughts and feelings of all involved regarding the Outstanding Ofsted rating:
“All the parents, children, staff and community are immensely proud of this outcome and reflect the amazing hard work that everyone contributes to make Filton Avenue Nursery School and Children’s Centre the huge success it has seen. We are always forward thinking and welcome visits from prospective parents who wish their children to have the best start to their Nursery education at our Outstanding setting”.
The excellent Ofsted report include statements such as “relationships between all members of staff, the children and the families who attend our school and the local community are exceptional” and “children make excellent progress because not a minute of learning time is wasted”.
The Ofsted report also described Filton Avenue Nursery School and Children’s Centre provision for both 2 year olds and the 3-4 year olds in nursery as “outstanding”.
