Free Family Fun Day Celebrating Somali Culture At M Shed: Saturday 29th October

somali-festivalOn Saturday 29th October there will be a free family fun day at M Shed celebrating Somali culture.

Part of Black History Month, the event will some amazing activities in store for children and families.

Activities include dressing-up and colourful crafts with Children’s Scrapstore such as making camels and designing henna patterns.

Families can also make their own spice mix combinations, enjoy traditional Somali storytelling with Zainab Dahir, plus have a go at creating their own Somali name using their father and grandfather’s names.

While at the event, families can also see M Shed’s new display on Somali heritage and culture which launches at 1pm on the day.

The event is free (donations welcome) and will be from 11am – 3pm – drop-in at any time to enjoy the fun.
