Home Start Bristol Volunteer Preparation Course: starting Tuesday 19th September

Home Start Bristol are looking for people who would be interested in volunteering to support struggling families with at least one child under the age of five.

An independent registered charity, Home Start Bristol recruit and train volunteers and carefully match them with local families to help them get back on their feet and develop the skills they need to cope in the future.

Home Start Bristol holds popular, accredited Volunteer Preparation Courses three times a year, with each course running for 36 hours over 9 weeks.

What’s more, the course carries a Level 2 Accreditation. This qualification, combined with the experience gained working with Home Start Bristol, can act as a great stepping stone into future careers.

Course times are designed to tie in with the school day and volunteers are asked to attend just once a week. At the end of the last course, 100% of volunteers said they would recommend it to a friend.

By encouraging and involving parents in their own support planning, parents and families grow in confidence and, in turn, children flourish.

By volunteering for Home Start Bristol, you really will be changing lives!

Volunteers should be parents or grandparents as parenting experience is needed to fully understand the challenges of family life.
