Burnham-On-Sea Beach: Sun, Sea, Sandcastles & Fish and Chips!

It’s been so good to have some golden-yellow sunny days recently and my family and I have really made the most of them.

One recent hot day my children requested a trip to the beach so my husband and I obliged and drove to Burnham-on-Sea. What a great afternoon we had!

Burnham-on-Sea offers a beautiful sandy beach and doesn’t have the crowds that Weston-Super-Mare has so it is a great place to relax and unwind.

The beach is patrolled by life guards in the Summer and dogs are banned so it is clean and safe (though the sea should not be approached at low tide).

In the Summer there are donkey rides available, too.

My children loved building sand castles on the beach, collecting seaweed in buckets and paddling in the sea.

Our afternoon at the beach was completed by eating fish and chips as we watched the tide come in late in the afternoon, a wonderful way to end the day.

Burnham-on-Sea is only about a 45 minute drive from the centre of Bristol and there is free parking on the seafront.

The beach at Burnham-on-Sea is picture postcard beautiful and a perfect way to spend a sunny Summer’s day with your kids!
