One recent rare sunny day we decided to take the kids for a walk and woodland adventure at the beautiful Kings Weston Estate.
Open at all times and free, Kings Weston Estate offers 300 acres of green space and woodland including some hidden surprises such as a grotto!
My children enjoyed exploring the woods, running, bug hunting, climbing trees and searching for the first fallen conkers.
While doing so they discovered an old foundation of a building hidden beneath the first fallen autumn leaves and enjoyed imagining what it once was.
We later enjoyed a picnic on the grass near the beautiful Kings Weston House, enjoying the warmth of the sun, the clear blue sky and the singing of the wind in the trees.
Kings Weston Estate is wonderful to explore with kids; if offers countless adventures and discoveries and you could come back time and time again and not get bored.
I should mention however, that some of the paths are uneven and can be quite muddy in wet weather which will make it tricky if you have a child in a pushchair or wheelchair.
There is a free car park on the estate. You can find Kings Weston Estate on Kings Weston Lane, BS11 0UR.
Enjoy your own woodland adventures with your children!
