I recently popped into Gymboree Play & Music in Westbury-on-Trym which provides many classes for 0-5s, a fabulous play floor with specially designed equipment and a cheerful café.

Gymboree Play & Music is open all throughout the year, offering unlimited classes to members in July and August and the option of great value Summer passes or a range of Summer camps in 3-day blocks.

It also has its own car park making things that bit easier for parents/carers with young children.

Classes at Gymboree Play & Music cater for all ages and stages, including new babies right up to active pre-schoolers.

The Gymboree Play & Music Café is open to all and offers great barista coffee, cold drinks, a range of tasty cakes, plus snacks for both adults and young children.  The café also includes a brand new play area so parents can enjoy their coffee while their children play!

Teachers at Gymboree Play & Music are friendly, bubbly and fun, and are usually performing arts graduates or teachers.

On the day I visited, I watched a Play & learn class on a Wednesday morning which is for toddlers aged 22 – 28 months.

The theme of the day was “animals” and it was great to see the children use all the colourful play equipment while enjoying the animal-themed activities!

The class was both fantastic fun and educational.

Classes at Gymboree Play & Music are vast and varied, including the following:

• Sensory Baby Classes and Baby Massage Courses (0-1 year)
• Play & learn Classes in six age groups through levels 2-7 (6 months-4 years)
• Mixed-age Music Classes (6 months-4 years)
• Art Classes (1-4 years)
• School Skills – small group sessions (max 6) exploring science, art, numbers and writing, all in preparation for school life (3-5 years)
• Theatre school (3-5 years) – singing, drama and dance, plus problem-solving and teamwork culminating in a performance!
• Sports, introducing key skills in sports such as golf, football, hockey, basketball, cricket, tennis (3-5 years)

There are also daily open gym sessions members or summer pass holders to enjoy!

And, if you have a children’s party to organise, Gymboree Play & Music is available for private hire and there are a range of party options.
