Puppetry in Performance Kids’ Drama Workshop in Bishopston: Monday 30th July

On Monday 30th July there will be a Puppetry in Performance one-day drama workshop for children aged 7 to 12.

Bristol Academy of Drama and Monkey Trousers Theatre are delighted to be offering this popular, fun workshop again this coming holiday.

The one-day workshop in glove puppetry fabrication and performance will involve children making their own puppet and learning how to bring it to life. They will then show their new-found puppetry skills to parents in a short performance at the end of the day and can take their puppet home to make puppet shows of their own.

Children will enjoy making their own hand puppet out of fabric, foam and all sorts using traditional puppetry techniques as seen in The Muppets and The Furchester Hotel. They will learn lip synching, eye contact and basic body language techniques to show off in your final performance.

Pre-booking will be essential for this workshop as places are limited. Tickets priced £40 are on sale now (booking fee applies, price includes all materials for puppet making).

Bristol Academy of Drama also runs children’s drama classes on Saturdays. Morning classes are now full but there are currently spaces in the afternoon class and the academy will also be opening a younger and older age group class from September.

The younger age group (4-6) years will be on Saturdays 8.30am – 9.30am and the after-school classes for age 12-16 will be from 4.30pm – 6.30pm (day of week tba).
