Bin your bra at the ‘Bra Bank’ and raise money for breast cancer charity!

Do you have any bras you would like to get rid of?  The Hub, in Lockleaze, has recently introduced a ‘Bra Bank’ for women to deposit their unwanted bras, while at the same time, raising money for the charity, Against Breast Cancer.

Not only this, but all bras deposited will help support businesses in Africa who can then sell them at affordable prices.

Together with Against Breast Cancer’s recycling partners, the charity’s textile recovery project prevents these bras going into landfill before giving them a new lease of life in developing countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya, where bras remain too expensive to produce locally.

The bras can be old or new, and any colour or size.  You can find the Bra Bank at The Hub, Fedden Buildings, Gainsborough Square, Lockleaze, BS7 9FB.  The Hub’s opening times are 9.30am-3pm.

For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund vital research.  With over 30 million women in the UK you could really help make a difference!
