A picnic with the kids at Skenfrith Castle, Monmouthshire

Yesterday we took the kids to Skenfrith Castle in Monmouthshire for a picnic and roam. Free entry, open at all times, and only an hour or so away from where we live in Bristol, this ruined castle is great for kids to explore.

Built at the end of the twelfth century, this castle also offers a fun history lesson!

It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot and we will definitely be returning over the summer. Here are some photos…
