A Bristol teacher is set to appear on posters and social media adverts across the UK after being selected for a major national campaign promoting teaching as a career.
Archimedes (Archie), a Chemistry teacher at Ashton Park School, was chosen as one of just 11 teachers from around 750 applicants to feature in the latest Department for Education campaign.
After travelling to London for filming, Archie is now appearing on advertising posters, including across the London Underground, as well as in videos on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Speaking about life in the classroom, Archie said teaching allows him to be creative and that no two days are ever the same. He also praised the strong support within Ashton Park’s Science department and the opportunity to teach in ways that engage different learners.
Richard Uffendell, Headteacher at Ashton Park School, said the school is “incredibly proud” of Archie’s achievement, adding that being selected from hundreds of applicants reflects the passion and commitment he brings to teaching every day.
Congratulations, Archie! It’s fantastic to see a Bristol teacher representing the profession on a national stage. 🧪👏
