Today Bristol Mum features a group in Bristol called “Peas in a Pod”; a group especially for families with twins, triplets & quads.
Peas in a Pod has been set up by Bristol mum of twins, Amy Murdoch-Davis, along with the help of a few other mums with multiples. Amy explains why the group was set up:
“I think having a support network of people who understand the strains of multiples is really important. The nearest group to me is two hours away by bus so I thought that starting my own group would be easier. I posted messages in existing emails and Facebook groups about starting a new group and I was overwhelmed by the interest.”
Along with a small team of committed mums, Peas in a Pod was initially set up at Horfield United Reformed Church but now meets at Playful Cafe on Fenton Road, Bishopston. The group meets every Wednesday in term-time at 9.30 – 11am and is free. The group is very friendly and there are some great activities for all ages and stages.
One of the mums at Peas in a Pod, Becky Bailey, organises weekly messy play and arts and crafts suitable for all babies and children to enjoy.
New families with multiples, as well as siblings, are very welcome along to Peas in a Pod.
