On the last week day of the school holidays we decided to venture outside of Bristol with our kids. We decided to visit Clevedon, a seaside town in North Somerset.
When we arrived and parked in the car park next to the seafront, we walked the short distance to explore the seafront and see the pier.
We noticed some families and children there with fishing nets and discovered that they were crabbing!
Well, my children were super-excited, so, on the advice of the said crab-fishers, off we went to the local shops to buy some fishing nets. These are cheap; £1/£2 depending on the size net that you wanted.
We used a little ham from our sandwiches as crab bait and we were off!
After enjoying a long spell of crab fishing we returned the crabs to the sea and went to play in the adjoining two play parks next to Clevedon seafront.
We had such a good day; days which are relatively unplanned often make the best ones and this proved true of our seaside adventure at Clevedon!
