Today’s post on Bristol Mum is kindly shared by Gemma Screen, local mum and writer of the fab Bristol Foodie.
Here, Gemma tells Bristol Mum readers about a family outing to Clevedon Craft Centre. Clevedon Craft Centre is open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 2 – 5pm and is FREE entry.
I hope you enjoy reading this post…
As new parents, family days out are much anticipated. We recently paid a visit to Clevedon Craft Centre with baby Leo (five months old).
Going in and out of the craft centre shops and barns give babies lots to look at with different colours and shapes and sounds. In particular, we liked the clock repair shop – Leo was fascinated by the noise from so many clocks – especially at half past the hour when the cuckoos went off!
We also enjoyed wandering through the gardens and going to see the chickens and ducks. The craft centre sells bags for bird feed for just 30p and whilst Leo was a little young to feed them himself, he was very entertained when the chickens and ducks came running to the gate whilst we threw the corn over.
We finished our visit with a cream tea from the craft centre cafe – at £3.50 for tea and a scone this was a bargain.
A perfect family outing for parents with a new baby. Lots to see without baby getting over stimulated, it’s free, and just enough of a drive out of Bristol to get your little one off to sleep – if you’re lucky!
