My children and I recently visited Windmill Hill City Farm and we had a fantastic time! Windmill Hill City Farm is on Philip Street in Bedminster, Bristol. It is open seven days a week and is free entry.

There are lots of farm animals for kids to see at Windmill Hill City Farm.

This was the most enormous pig I have ever seen. This photo does not do its size justice!

My kids especially loved the friendly goats and delighted in hand-feeding them grass.

I love how Windmill Hill City Farm has creative artwork dotted around. My kids enjoyed discovering a crocodile, a Loch Ness Monster, yarn bombing on trees, giant butterflies and dream catchers made up of leaves, feathers and seeds and so much more…

We ate a picnic lunch in the farm’s garden at a picnic bench, surrounded by trees and enjoyed the feel of the warm Autumn sunshine on our skin while the kids played in the little natural playground.

Like Lawrence Weston Community Farm, Windmill Hill City Farm has lots of green space. And, as you can see, even the farm’s allotments are decorated with artwork.

The expanse of green space and nature provided plenty of amusement and learning opportunities for the kids. My son found a ladybird which he was fascinated by, we learned that there is such a thing as edible flowers and we also liked the home especially created for mini-beasts!
