Triodos Renewables would like to invite Bristol Mum readers to a free fun family day out at its Avonmouth site in Bristol on Saturday 6th June.
On the day gates open at 10am and close at 4pm. Throughout the event there will be an opportunity to; poke your noise inside a wind turbine and learn about how turbines are built and how they work, take your photo up close and personal with one, have a look inside the sub-station to learn how the wind site operations are managed and how electricity generated from the wind farm is exported to the National Grid.
There will be an interactive science show delivered by Explorer Dome in the marquee. This show will take place approximately every hour depending on demand from 11am to 2pm and is aimed at 5 – 11 year olds to learn about renewable energy and wind turbines.
There will also be free face painting throughout the day and refreshments will be provided. Please allow up to two hours for a visit to the wind farm.
