A new 3D/4D Ultrasound baby scanning studio has just opened in Bristol welcoming in new parents, friends and families to catch a real time first glimpse of their unborn child.
The studio opens as Bristol and North Somerset birth rates continue to rise, up 24% over the last decade to reach 8,634, or almost one birth every hour in 2014.
The Window to the Womb studio at 10 Winterstoke Road, Bedminster uses the latest ultrasound technology (sound waves), to provide families with areal-time first glimpse of their unborn child in 3D and moving three dimensional images (4D) by qualified sonographers.
A variety of non-diagnostic services are on offer, from identifying the baby’s gender from 16+3 weeks – over three weeks earlier than offered by the NHS – through to 3D images & 4D videos.
The scans allow parents to witness the unborn child’s early movements from yawns, stretches and tugging at the umbilical cord as well as a first glimpse of their baby’s facial features.
The Bristol franchise has been opened by Joanna Thorne who was born and raised in Nailsea and Tim Earney, who share a home with their two young children in Claverham, North Somerset.
Joanna Thorne, Director commented:
“Not every parent wants to know the gender of their new baby before the birth, but for those simply can’t wait, we can offer confirmations with approximately 99% accuracy, from just 16+3 weeks, some four weeks earlier than hospital scans.
“We are extremely humbled by the warm reception that we are already receiving from customers in and around Bristol.
“With a young family ourselves, we understand only too well the excitement and longing that comes with expecting a child and it is an immense privilege to share the gender reveals and first glimpses of the baby’s face.
“Our sonographers are highly qualified and expectant parents can be confident that we have both the experience and expertise to deliver the most professional, compassionate and efficient care.
“As well as offering scans from as little as £50, we are also able to accommodate as many as ten additional family members and friends into our scanning room, enabling grandparents, siblings and friends to share in the special first moments of life.”
