What’s on in Bristol this Weekend for Families: 03/10/15 – 04/10/15

If you are living and raising your children in the wonderful city of Bristol this weekend, there are lots of events and activities for your family to enjoy!

Tree Life Family Fun Day: Grimsbury Farm

A family fun day offering bushcraft sessions, kids’ nature crafts, tombola, stalls, Tree Trail.

Docks Heritage Weekend: M Shed & Underfall Yard

A weekend of great activities for children and families held across two sites exploring the history of working life on the Old City docks. Activities include boat rides, crane trips, have a go experiences and performances.

Crane Rides: M Shed

  • 11am – 4pm
  • Electric crane rides £2, Fairbairn steam crane rides free (donations welcome)

Experience a working crane on the dockside with trips inside the electric cranes and the Fairbairn steam crane, M Shed’s biggest exhibits! Trips last approx. 20 minutes.

John King Boat Trips: M Shed

Take a trip on Bristol Harbour on this 1935 diesel tug boat. Trips last 30 minutes approx.

Art on the Hill: The Windmill Hill & Victoria Park Arts Trail

A feast of visual arts, performance, participatory workshops and food. Visitors will find painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, illustration, video and installations.

Over in Victoria Park you find a feast of performances, with musicians, dancers and poets taking to the stage in the marquee.

Apple Pressing: Tyntesfield

Bring your own apples to the Home Farm Visitor Centre and have fun pressing and juicing. Remember to bring something to bring your apple juice home in!

Food and Craft Market: Tyntesfield

Come along and enjoy a stroll around Home Farm and pick up some seasonal treats. Freshly baked breads, fine cheeses, home-made jewelry and ceramics.

Bee Keeping Talk: Tyntesfield

Meet the Garden Team & Plant it, Grow it, Eat It: Tyntesfield

Head to the Jubilee Garden to meet the Garden team to learn some seasonal tips and find out how to make your garden as beautiful as Tyntesfield. Plant it, grow it, Eat it activity for children.

Autumn Fair: Feed Bristol, Portishead

Plants, books, cakes and crafts for sale, plus Tombola and refreshments.

Bristol Saying Goodbye Service: Bristol Cathedral

A service for anyone who has lost a baby in pregnancy, at birth or in early years.

Kathy’s Coffee Morning: Bristol Dogs & Cats Home, St Phillips

A Bi-monthly coffee morning & table top sale, raising money for at Bristol Dogs and Cats Home.
