This weekend promises to be an especially fun one with lots of Halloween activities to keep the kids entertained!

SATURDAY 31st OCTOBER

Mexican Day of the Dead: Bristol Museum

Celebrate this traditional Mexican festival with face painting, puppetry and real Mexican artefacts.

Create Day of the Dead crafts, add your memories of loved ones to the museum’s colourful shrine and enjoy the vibrant sounds of a Mexican band.

Family Film Screening: Arnolfini

A special U-rated film screening just for families with children of all ages. Doors open 10.45am to collect tickets and choose your seat.

Bristol Family Arts Festival Finale of ‘My Green City’: Arnolfini

An afternoon of Green-themed activities for families. Make a spooky plant costume or prop, create giant drawings, take a storytelling boat trip or help design ways to feed the future city. Most suitable for children aged 5+ but children of all ages welcome to have a go.

MyMiniDisco Bristol Candy Rave: The Old Fire Station, Silver Street

To celebrate Halloween MyMiniDisco are throwing an ultraviolet fancy dress disco special, “Candy Rave” (think Day of the Dead, candy skulls and fluorescent costumes).

Ramping up the rave anthems DJ Soul of Man (Finger Lickin’) will be playing from the super sized ghetto blaster and starring local legend and Shambala sensation Annabelle Holland (Frenetic Engineering). Prizes for best costumes, FREE face painting, complimentary snack bags and lots of crazy dancing. For children aged 0-10.

Sunday Morning Cookery Club

Monthly cookery club for age 6-8. Make a different recipe every month (no need to sign up for a term, just book the dates/recipes you’d like to come to).

All the classes take place at Meals for Squeals cookery school in Coalpit Heath, Bristol. Award-winning cookery school, DBS (CRB) checked, food hygiene certification, accredited by Kallikids.

Today’s class will be making fruity flapjacks.
