Education

Was Two Mile Hill Primary School your first choice of school and if so, why?

This school wasn’t my first choice, I had some close friends whose children went to another school within our catchment area, and thought it would be a good idea to have my children in school with them.

The other school was also marginally nearer my place of work. However that school was oversubscribed and we were a bit too far from it. We decided to go with Two Mile Hill Primary rather than appeal because the Ofsted reports of both schools were good.

What are the positive aspects of this school?

Excellent teachers in reception and generally early years. Friendly staff in general. Multicultural and inclusive (my children are mixed race) so this is important to me.

What (if any) are weaknesses of this school?

It is a good school, the only issue I have is the size of the classes, but I guess that would be similar in other schools in the area.

What do you think of the school building, facilities and size of the school?

The school is very big and I was worried that my children would find it intimidating, but they didn’t seem to mind. Good facilities for play.

What do you think of the staff?

Friendly and communicative, I can’t fault them. There have been a couple of minor incidents where my children were being picked on by other children, and they have been dealt with speedily and very effectively.

One of my children had some problems making the transition to Year 1 but was well supported by the teacher and they are doing very well now.

What are the values of Two Mile Hill Primary School?

Respect, Integrity, Curiosity, Hope, Excellence and Responsibility.

Do children receive homework, reading or tasks do do at home?

They get some tasks but not daily. Mostly over weekends or half term.

Is there anything else you would like to add about this school?

Two Mile Hill Primary School is a good school, and I am glad my children are studying here. They could improve on communicating with parents better, for example, over inset days etc which can be sprung on at the last moment sometimes.
