For one magical evening on Saturday 14th May, children and families will be able to discover a mystical twilight world in the hidden gardens at Blaise Castle Estate!
At this special free event, entitled ‘Museums at Night: The Enchanted Gardens‘, visitors of all ages can enjoy a fantastic installation of light and sound created by UWE filmmaking students.
Lots of twinkling lights will transform the house and gardens at dusk and children and families will be thus taken on a magical journey on which their imaginations can run wild!
There they will be able to explore the imagined forests of the future, where large wild animals are living once again. The magic will continue after dusk with a performance from Travelling Light Youth Theatre Company at 7.30pm.
Children and parents can use their special activity maps to guide them as they make magical lanterns, paper creatures, silver roses and magic miniature gardens (see picture below). They can then become part of the enchantment by joining a twilight lantern parade at 7pm.
Families are welcome to bring picnics or there will also be sweet treats and warming drinks from the Blaise pop-up café. The event is free however donations towards Blaise Castle House Museum are very welcome.
The event begins at 4.30pm and ends at the stroke of 9pm.
