If you are ever wanting to spend an hour or two on a hot Summer’s afternoon sitting in a country pub garden watching your kids play, the Fox Inn in Old Down is lovely. I went there one afternoon with my mum and my little girl recently and wanted to tell you about it.

The Fox Inn is situated in the very beautiful, quiet hamlet of Old Down, South Gloucestershire, which is near Olveston and Tockington. It is a traditional, cosy country pub, complete with low ceilings and a crackling log fire in Winter.

And, outside the pub garden is beautiful and peaceful and has a small play area for children which is in full-view of where parents are sitting so that you can relax over your drink and not lose sight of your children while they play.

My little girl made full use of the play area and made a few new friends while my mum and I enjoyed having a drink and chat in the warm sunshine.

The Fox Inn pub garden is a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life with your kids for an hour or more on a sunny, Summer afternoon.
