Plane spotters young and old will be pleased to hear that Bristol Airport Spotting will be holding an Aviation Fair at Bristol Airport on Sunday 18th September. The fair will take place from 10.30am – 4pm and will be raising funds towards the Airport’s charity of the year, Children’s Hospice South West.

Following the success of aviation fairs in previous years, the organisers are making this year’s fair bigger and better with more exhibitors providing more things to see and do for children and families!

The Aviation Fair will take place in the Bristol Room which overlooks the main aircraft operational areas and runway giving panoramic views of aircraft departing and arriving.

The Bristol Room is located in the Administration Building which was previously the passenger terminal and which closed in March 2000 and is rarely opened to the general public. It is a great space for plane spotting and ample seating will be provided to sit and watch the aircraft or to take photographs.

Exhibitors to the fair include: Bristol Airport Spotting, Airliner World Magazine, Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club, Bristol Aero Collection, Fly2Help, IPMS Avon Model Club, South West Photographers and many other selling postcards, photos, aircraft models, books and anything related to aviation.

Free car parking will be available on the day but visitors are asked to car share where possible or use public transport as parking spaces at the airport are limited.

Hot and cold refreshments and snacks will also be available in Wings Café, the newly refurbished cafeteria which is located downstairs within the same building.

Entry to the fair will be £1.50 per adult and children under 16 will have free entry. All proceeds from admission fees goes directly to Children’s Hospice South West.

The aviation fair will be a perfect day out for anyone who wishes to see the airport and the fair as well as browsing the exhibitors on display. Once the fair has finished there will be a barbecue and events for children and adults over at the Bristol and Wessex Aeroplane Club.

Happy plane spotting!
