The weekend is finally here and as always, Bristol doesn’t disappoint with events and activities on offer for families!
As well as some fantastic fireworks displays, there’s a ‘fireworks’ themed kids’ science session, a dance performance of Peter Pan, a free event for single parents and their kids, a chance to pick up some bargains at a charity nearly new sale and more!

Fireworks’ Science for Kids Session: Zion Community Art Space, Bedminster Down
A ‘fireworks’ themed science session led by the brilliant Bill Bailey who will be taking children on a journey into science where they will learn about chemical reactions, elements and much more.
Ideal for children aged 4+ however all children are welcome along to enjoy the fun.

Peter Pan Gone Urban: A Tiny Steps Performance, Redland
A Tiny Steps Performance especially for children aged 0 – 8 and their families (older siblings are welcome, too!).
In this Tiny Steps Performance the classic tale of Peter Pan will be transformed and given a modern-day twist and will include an unusual fusion of break dance, folk dance and ballet!
As with all Tiny Steps Performances, this show will be relaxed and interactive. Children will have the chance to join in with the dancers and learn some simple dance steps and movement games, too.
Parents can also join in if they wish!
Following the performance there will be tea, coffee, squash and delicious home-made cakes.

Single Parents Fair: The Greenway Centre, Southmead
An event especially for single dads and mums which is packed full of amazing activities for both children and adults, all of which are completely free!

Celebrate Hartcliffe Community Park Farm’s New Growing Scheme
All welcome to celebrate the opening of Hartcliffe Community Park Farm’s new poly tunnels which will enable the community to grow affordable fresh vegetables all year round. The Lord Mayor of Bristol will also be there.
There will be free tea, coffee, juice and cakes. Children can enter a colouring competition and also plant their own Broad Beans to grow in the tunnel or take home to grow.

Christmas Craft and Card Fair: St Peter’s Church Hall, Henleaze
There will be some beautiful handcrafted gifts and cards on offer at this Christmas fair if you fancy doing some Christmas shopping this weekend. There will also be a raffle and refreshments. All proceeds will be supporting church outreach charities.

Big charity firework display hosted by Bristol Round Table and Clifton Rotary Club.

Celebrate fireworks night and help raise funds for Bishop Road Primary School. Spectacular display, plus fire performers, entertainment, Samba band, licensed bar, tuck shop, refreshments, glow in the dark novelties and much more.

Bonfire Night at Boiling Wells, St Werburgh’s City Farm
All welcome to Boiling Wells, the St Werburgh’s City Farm’s orchard to enjoy a brilliant bonfire and much more!
Boiling Wells will be given a UV makeover, illuminating the orchard – groovy gear strongly recommended! Live music, luminous games, UV face painting, glow-in-the-dark scavenger hunt, crafts in the Roundhouse, mulled bar, fresh food plus a Kids’ Rave!
Proceeds raised go to Dunkirk Women’s Refugee Centre.

Charity Baby & Toddler Nearly New Sale: The Bristol
Stalls with nearly new baby and toddler items, plus craft, gift and business stalls, raffle and refreshments – in aid of the charity, Bristol Mind.
Free parking in the adjacent NCP Prince Street multi-storey car park (take the ticket from the barrier on entry and the organisers will give you a free exit ticket after you have visited the sale).
