I am really pleased to introduce Two Fat Cows, a new rhyming book for young children written by Nigel Tetley.
Two Fat Cows is a laugh-a-minute, grass-munching adventure with Marigold and Petal; two happy-go-lucky cows on a mission to eat every blade of the green stuff they can find.
Seeing cows is a staple of any motorway or train journey; with the fascinating creatures usually chomping away on their favourite gourmet dish – an endless supply of British green grass.
For Marigold and Petal, this past-time is taken to a mischievous and hilarious new level with their madcap plan to eat every blade of grass they can get their hooves on.
Two Fat Cows is yet another critically-acclaimed children’s storybook from Tetley, a writer and educator who knows how to grab the attention of any young reader.
Nigel explains:
“I felt the market needed a traditional-style, rhyming story that was also highly whimsical and witty. I’ve spent my life as an educator mastering the art of engaging with young minds, making children’s books a natural progression.
“My last book, ‘When Bees Flew in for Breakfast’ was also a volume of rhyme that proved just how popular this bygone style can be in today’s market. Safe to say, Marigold and Petal rhyme their way through their captivating grass adventure!”
Nigel continues, “I hope the book brings families together and instils the value of reading at a time when electronic devices and other distractions seem to have taken over. The beauty of the story is that it’s so simple yet, in its own unique way, so unlike anything else out there.”
Since qualifying as a Religious Studies teacher in 1989, Nigel Tetley has worked in a variety of schools, spanning middle and secondary age groups in both the State and independent sectors.
At the beginning of his teaching career, he also spent a year in Greece teaching English as a second language. In 2001, he started writing children’s poetry at the suggestion of a colleague.
Since then, he has also written the texts to three Christmas carols, ‘Alchemy,’ ‘Snow,’ and ‘The Way of Paradox.’
