This Thursday the national clapping event which took place during last year’s lockdown will relaunch following the prime minister’s announcement of another lockdown on Monday evening.
However, this time the organiser of the original ‘Clap For Our Carers’ event has asked for people to clap for not only NHS staff and keyworkers, but absolutely everyone who has played their part through the pandemic.
The newly named ‘Clap For Our Heroes’ event will give the nation the chance to show appreciation to all the heroes of the pandemic, including home-schoolers, great neighbours, scientists, those who have stayed at home and socially distanced – simply anyone and everyone whom you want to show your appreciation to!
The #clapforheroes will take place every Thursday at 8pm until further notice. People joining in should applaud from their front doors, gardens, balconies and windows, keeping a safe distance from other people.
