An exciting arts project is looking for Bristol mums to take part in its quest to explore and celebrate motherhood.
Mother in the Mother is a 2-year project, funded by the arts Council, which is running in conjunction with the Knowle West Media Centre. Media such as the written and spoken word, moving image, sculpture and photography are being used to explore maternal lineage and relationships and to demonstrate how emotions, values and physiology are passed down or challenged through the generations.
Bristol mums are invited to share their own personal stories on the Mother in the Mother website, as well as getting involved with creative workshops and attending the Mother in the Mother events. The project is also looking for families with three or more generations of women to take part in a photography project and for one family to help create a short film.
Bristol mums are invited to an event titled “A Celebration of Motherhood” which will be held on Saturday 29th March at 2 – 5pm at The Natural Pregnancy Partnership at Yanley Court, Long Ashton.
The project will finally conclude in 2015 with an exhibition at Southmead Hospital and Knowle West Media Centre, showcasing all the art work collected.
