What’s on for Children & Families in Bristol this Weekend: 25/07/15 – 26/07/15

This weekend in Bristol, there are lots of fun events for children and families.

From craft activities at Arnolfini, kids’ archaeology activities at Blaise Castle and boat rides on Bristol Harbour, there’s simply something for everyone. And, don’t forget about the Shaun in the City trail too!

SATURDAY

Family Film Screening: Arnolfini

Join Arnolfini’s learning team and illustrator/educator Rosie Faragher to explore Arnolfini’s exhibitions and events through exciting and engaging activities for families to do together.

Upfest 2015: Street & Grafitti Art Festival

Europe’s largest and free Street Art & Graffiti festival, featuring 250 local, national and international artists plus lots of free activities for kids.

Callington Road Family Nature Day

A nature-filled day of fun for all the family. Bug hunting, pond dipping, wild flower, bird and tree spotting and much more. Part of the Festival of Nature.

St Anne’s Day Pageant

  • 11.30am – 2pm
  • Meet at The Pilgrim Inn, 21 Hollywood Road, BS4 4LE

A medieval themed woodland pageant from The Pilgrim Inn to St Anne’s Well, in St Anne’s Woods – get dressed up, come along and enjoy a walk through the woods with medieval stories, and music along the way.

St Anne’s Day Family Festival

A family fun day to which all are welcome. Barbecue, musical entertainment, bouncy castle, face painting and more.

Terrific Trees & Den Building: Dyrham Park

Join the ranger at Dyrham Park to learn about trees and how to build fantastic dens.

Explore Bristol Harbour aboard Bristol’s oldest steam tug. Trips last 30 minutes.

SUNDAY

Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology: Blaise Castle House Museum

  • 11am – 4pm (drop-in)
  • Free – donations welcome

Join a whole host of Iron Age, Viking, Roman, Medieval and First World War re-enactors and have a go at being an archaeologist for the day.

Have a go at a variety of craft activities including making your own Roman gladiator helmets, an Iron Age torc or a Viking shield, as well as face painting ‘Iron Age style’, and dressing up in Iron Age, Roman and Medieval costumes.
