Local Bishopston day nursery Clyde House is celebrating after a gaining a glowing report from Ofsted following a visit on 21st December.

The nursery maintained its ‘Good’ rating and went on to achieve ‘Outstanding’ in the area of child development, welfare and behaviour.

Ofsted say, ‘Staff provide excellent support for children’s physical and emotional well-being. They successfully help children to understand their feelings and value each other’s differences. They are exemplary role models, so children behave extremely well. Staff…know the children well and meet their individual care and learning needs effectively.’

Clyde House is one of two local nurseries owned by the Mann family for more than 20 years. The sister site, Ashgrove Park, is located five minutes away just off Ashley Down Road. Ashgrove Park was also inspected in 2016, and was also rated GOOD.

Lisa Mann, owner of Clyde House and Ashgrove Park Day Nurseries, said:

‘I’m delighted with the result of the recent inspection. I am particularly pleased to achieve Outstanding in the children’s development and welfare category. We pride ourselves on our staff longevity and close relationships with the children’s parents and carers. We look forward to building on this great result in the future, both at Clyde House and Ashgrove Park.

‘Thanks must go to our general manager, Sue Bennett, Clyde House manager, Claire Matthews, and the whole team for all their hard work both on the day itself and over the past year. We are also grateful to the parents who took the time to speak with the inspector and for their ongoing feedback and support.’

Clyde House and Ashgrove Park are currently taking bookings for places from September, with a select few sessions available from April.
