Muller Road Toddler Group: relaxed, friendly & welcoming

If you have littles and are looking for a relaxed and friendly playgroup to go to, then you will like Muller Road Toddler Group.

Muller Road Toddler Group is held in the church hall at Horfield United Reformed Church on Thursdays from 9.30 – 11.15am in term-time.

The group has been running for many years and, due to its location, has a good mix of parents from Horfield, Filton, Lockleaze and St Werburghs.

As well as parents, regular visitors to the group include grandparents and childminders also.

When you arrive Muller Road Toddler Group has an immediately obvious relaxed atmosphere, not at all frantic and absolutely everyone I spoke to remarked on how friendly and inclusive the group was.

I chatted to one mum visiting with her two young children who explained why she liked the group so much:

“Muller Road Toddler Group is super friendly and we’ve been coming here for a long time now. I find it very non-judgemental and chilled out. Everyone’s very kind to each other; it’s a really nice group”.

The organisation of the group has recently been taken over by Heather Moore, mum of three young children and long-term regular at the group. Hannah explained that other parents also help her with the running of the group too.

There were lots of toys for children to play with such as vehicles, garage, doll’s house, Wendy House, ride-on cars and play apparatus such as a mini trampoline and rocker, to name but a few.

Along with the many toys and play activities, Hannah also organises a weekly themed craft table and this week’s theme was Autumn.

One parent told me: “The crafts are always well-thought out and this is a really nice part of the playgroup. Hannah is very creative”.

The wide range of toys at Muller Road Toddler Group is a big hit with the young children who visit along with parents and carers.

One mum explained: “My daughter loves this playgroup, she likes the whole set-up, the whole mix of things and the crafty things too. She likes the doll’s house, the animals and the cars and she also likes the singing. It’s a very friendly group”.

Healthy snacks are also provided and at snack time all children who wanted to sat together at a little table to enjoy some squash, raisins and chopped banana.
