Bristol Academy of Drama is inviting children to take an exciting and creative journey into the world of drama and performance by rehearsing and then performing a play… in just 3 days!
Aimed at children aged 7-11, ‘A Play In 3 Days‘ workshop will take place from Wednesday 22nd-Friday 24th August at the Kelvin Players Studio Theatre, Bishopston.
Throughout the 3 days the group will create the world of the play; develop characters, create the scenes to build their play for a performance on the final afternoon. This process is designed to develop creativity, build confidence and help with improvisation skills and teamwork. But more than that is designed for the children to have a really fun few days.
Led by experienced drama facilitators, the children will create the world of the play using costumes and props and basic scenery. They will not only perform in the play but be essential to its creation, sharing ideas and working with others to bring the story to life.
Through speaking, listening and using imagination everyone will work together as a team and build their understanding of how to dramatise the story and present a finished production ready to be shared with an audience.
All children will need to bring is their willingness to get stuck in, their imagination, comfy clothing and plenty of food and drink to keep their energy levels up.
The ‘A Play in 3 Days’ workshop will enable children to create fun memories, learn new skills and make new friends!
